Dear Joanna,
We stare at your picture everyday. You are more beautiful
than we could have imagined. We have just three pictures of
you. The first one is sort of a mug shot of your adorable
face. Your almond shape eyes look back at us and we stare
in disbelief. You have the cutest eyebrows that we have
ever seen. In the second picture you're standing in an older style baby walker. Your feet don't touch the ground! You
seem too small for this contraption, but you look peaceful and
content. You are holding your body and head up straight.
You must be a strong little girl. The third picture is our
favorite one of all. You are lying on your belly with your
head straight up looking directly at the camera. You are
definitely looking back at us in this one.
These weeks are tough because we are waiting as patiently as we
can to hear that we can come get you. We want to leave now,
but we can't yet. So, while we wait, we are getting ready
for you to come home. Your room is painted pink and your
furniture will be here on Wednesday.
You have so many people who are waiting to see you. They
are buying you all sorts of gifts. You have grandparents
and aunts and uncles that have your pictures plastered all over
their homes. You even have little cousins around your age
to play with! If they could all go to the airport now to wait
for you... they would.
We pray every night that you are safe. We can't stop
thinking of you. We wonder what it will be like when we
first see each other. We know you might be scared at first,
but we hope you don't cry. We love you so much and we
don't want you to be afraid. We know it will be a change
for you to come with us, so we will be patient. We will
move slowly and speak softly so we don't scare you and you
can get used to us, but we can't wait to see you
smile!
We are hoping to travel in just a few more weeks and are
also
hoping to bring you home in time for Christmas. We know
you are a strong little girl. Hang in there just a little
longer Joanna. We will be there soon.
Love,
Mommy & Daddy
